Information to be used to call for Nominations for the Eminent Fellowship and Fellowship of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS)

These awards recognise and reward science from all sectors where Pharmaceutical Scientists work.

  • Eminent Fellowship (Nominated by APS member)
  • Fellowship of the Academy. (Can be either Nominated or Self-Nominated by APS member)
     

Fellowship of the Academy

This is a science driven award and is either self-nominated or nominated by members of the APS. Individuals nominating can come from all sectors where pharmaceutical scientists work.

Eligibility requirements

The nominated person must:

  • be a current member of the APS (for at least one year)
  • have a minimum of 8 post training years in the pharmaceutical sciences
  • proven track record in pharmaceutical sciences as demonstrated by either one or more of the areas listed below.
    • by peer reviewed publications- at least 15
    • patents, with at least 2/3 as first or corresponding/senior author
    • demonstrate contributions to pharmaceutical product development
    • contributed substantially to the development of a medicinal product(s) , diagnostic or device
    • contributed substantially to the development of novel technologies
    • contributed substantially to pharmaceutical science education/training as evidenced by peer recognition- invited lectures, conference leadership, etc. and involvement in mentorship

Nomination

Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated

Nominations must consist of a CV and a one-page summary of achievements and why a person is eligible.

Fellowship will be informed by email and certificate sent by post and the winner appear on the APS website.

 

Eminent Fellowship of the Academy (Only Nominated by APS member)

This is an award recognising science and experience at international level with emphasis on advocacy and leadership. Nomination can be from all sectors where pharmaceutical scientists work.

Eligibility Requirements

The nominated person must:

  • be a current member of the APS (for at least one year)
  • have a minimum of 10 years post qualification of involvement in the pharmaceutical sciences
  • have made a significant contribution to multiple publications and /or patents
  • or contributed substantially to the development of a pharmaceutical products
  • or contributed substantially to pharmaceutical science education/training as evidenced by peer recognition- invited lectures, conference leadership, etc. and involvement in mentorship
  • be in a clear leadership role
  • be recognised internationally for their achievements

Nomination

Nominations for Eminent Fellowship may be submitted by any member of APS, but self-nominations are not accepted. Nominees for Eminent Fellowship must have international recognition for their advocacy of science and have demonstrated leadership at international level.

Nominations should consist of a letter of support, a one-page summary of achievements and an explanation of why Eminent Fellowship is justified and be accompanied by a CV sent to APS at info@apsgb.org when the call is announced.

Eminent fellows will be invited to PharmSci for the presentation of their award.
