About Us
 
The Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences is an organisation dedicated to the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences in the United Kingdom. The Academy is a separate independent legal entity, has its own membership and organises meetings, symposia and residential courses.

The Academy has a partnership agreement with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. As part of this agreement the Academy provides support for the Charter Objectives in Science for the Society, specifically, the science content of the British Pharmaceutical Conference, four symposia and three residential courses each year.

 
Objectives
The objectives of the Academy are:
  • To stimulate development of, and promote, the pharmaceutical sciences.
  • To promote interaction and collaboration between the multidisciplinary subjects which constitute the pharmaceutical sciences.
  • To express the views of pharmaceutical scientists at national and International levels.
Governance
The Academy is Governed by a Board of Directors, the board is comprised of up to 13 members who are elected by the membership in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association and give their time and expertise free of charge.  Click here for a list of current Board Members.
